Tony Davidow is the author of "Goals Based Investing, A Visionary Framework for Wealth Management" and President & Founder of T. Davidow Consulting, LLC an independent advisory firm focused on the needs and challenges facing the financial services industry. Davidow leverages his diverse experiences to deliver research and analysis to advisors, asset managers and wealthy families. Tony has held senior leadership roles at Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, Guggenheim Investments and IndexIQ among others.
Davidow has a strong record of successfully leading high-performing teams, projects, and companies to deliver growth in revenue and Assets Under Management. He’s an award-winning author with expertise in diverse subjects, including asset allocation, alternative investments, factor investing and Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG).
Prior to founding T. Davidow Consulting, Davidow was Alternative Beta & Asset Allocation Strategist at the Schwab Center for Financial Research, where he served as subject matter expert on asset allocation and portfolio construction, smart beta strategies and alternative investments. He was responsible for developing and disseminating Schwab’s point of view to clients and the media.
Previously, he was Managing Director, Portfolio Strategist, and Head of Guggenheim Knowledge Center. Davidow was responsible for combining and integrating Rydex and Claymore’s legacy ETF businesses Into Guggenheim Investments. He represented Guggenheim’s point of view with clients and media and served as spokesperson for firm’s ETF and Alternative Investment businesses.
Previously, he was Executive Vice President, Head of Distribution at IndexIQ, where he was responsible for building and managing a distribution team for an innovative provider of hedge fund replication strategies. While at IndexIQ, he launched a family of ETFs and was responsible for sharing the firm’s point-of-view with clients and media.
Davidow spent nearly 15 years of his career at Morgan Stanley, serving as Managing Director, Director of Sales & Training, Consulting Services Group. He was responsible for distribution across retail, institutional and private wealth management channels. He built and managed a team of professionals supporting Morgan Stanley’s advisory businesses, and worked directly with multiple UHNW Families, Family Offices, Institutions and Investment Banking clients.
Davidow holds a B.B.A. degree in Finance and Investments from Bernard M. Baruch College, and has earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He served on the Board of Directors of the Investments & Wealth Institute (formerly IMCA) from 2009 to 2015. Davidow currently serves as the Chair, Investment & Wealth Monitor, Editorial Advisory Board, and Host for the Exceptional Advisor Webinar Series. He’s also a member of the Investments & Wealth Institute WealthBoard 100 Advisory Board.
In 2020, Davidow was awarded the Wealth Management Impact Award by the Investments & Wealth Institute. In 2017 he received the Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award, and in 2015 he received the Stephen L. Kessler Writing Award (Honorable Distinction).
