Paul Hartwood

Paul Hartwood

Paul Hartwood is above all a French artist. He creates a mysterious universe where he combines the nobility of art with the luxury of Champagne. According to him, thanks to its infinite effervescence, Champagne never dies. It is considered the noblest of drinks, a symbol of "eternal life". By associating his works with the effervescence of Champagne, Paul Hartwood decides to offer an extra life to his timeless creations. Relating to the contemporary art industry, his creations are however only accessible on another platform for private collectors.

Beyond his sculptures, Paul Hartwood has created his own brand of Champagne. The artist explains that it was important to obtain his own identity on all aspects of his work. Attentive to the smallest detail, Paul Hartwood surrounded himself with Jean-Luc Pouteau, best sommelier in France and first best sommelier in the world to select a Grand Champagne. For over 5 years, Paul Hartwood and Jean-Luc Pouteau met a hundred winemakers and tasted nearly 200 champagnes. During a final blind tasting, they selected only one champagne that combined fine bubbles, freshness and refinement. An exceptional wine that glorifies the unique Blanc de Blancs grape variety. As an artist who cares about excellence and perfection, Paul Hartwood also decides to make his Champagne accessible alongside his works of art. He then draws inspiration from the history of French royalty to create a unique experience that urges us to reconsider art in its tradition. The artist explains that Champagne is a sacred land. During the time of the Kingdom of France, the advent of the new king was legitimized by the ceremony of his coronation at the cathedral of Reims.
